Blessed in Blessing

I made some visits today. It seems that people see hospital calls and shut-in visits as a way to bless others. It truly is a blessing to the recepient but it is much more a gift to the giver.

One man shared with me an exciting history of life in the boom days of the East Texas Oil Field. I was spellbound by the stories.

James reminded us that pure religion is to visit the widows and orphaned in their need (1:21). Jesus said our salvation depends on visiting the sick, imprisoned and feeding the hungry. The real up side to this ministry is the immediate blessing you receive as you share the love of Christ. I’ve never come away from a visit to a sick person, shut-in or grieving soul that I wasn’t better for going. My life is always enriched. If you are looking for a wonderful ministry try visitation. You will witness double blessings everytime.
